Court records of Pima County, Arizona, are available through several channels. PimaCourt.us allows you to search for public information about court cases in the county. To search, you usually need to know the party's name or case number.

Pima Court System & Jurisdictions

There are two main levels of courts in Pima County — Superior Court and Justice Courts. Each handles different categories of cases, and understanding this structure will help you find the necessary register.

Arizona Superior Court in Pima County is a court of general jurisdiction. It consists of 53 judges and handles:

  • Criminal cases (felonies — serious crimes)
  • Civil lawsuits over $10,000
  • Family cases — divorce, child custody, alimony
  • Juvenile cases
  • Probate cases and cases of incapacity

Detailed information about Superior Court and Justice Courts of Pima County can be found on the official county website.

Justice Courts serve specific geographic areas (precincts) of the county. These courts handle:

  • Misdemeanors — minor offenses
  • Civil lawsuits up to $10,000
  • Eviction cases
  • Traffic violations
  • Small claims cases (up to $3,500)
  • Issuance of orders of protection

Tucson City Court is a separate municipal court that handles violations of city ordinances and some traffic cases within the city. If an offense occurred within Tucson, the case is likely to go there rather than to the Justice Court.

Pima Court Calendar & Upcoming Hearings

To find out the date and time of upcoming hearings, use the Public Access Case Lookup portal, supported by the Arizona Judicial Branch. The system allows you to search cases by party name or case number, and the case card displays the schedule of future hearings.

For the Superior Court of Pima County, the hearing calendar is usually available through this same portal. Enter the case number to see the scheduled dates.

Justice Courts publish case information on the Case Information page of Pima County. There you can find links to specific Justice Courts (e.g., Green Valley) and their schedules.

A few practical tips:

  1. If you are looking for today's or tomorrow's schedule — call the relevant court office directly. The online portal sometimes updates with a delay.
  2. For cases heard in the Arizona Supreme Court or Court of Appeals, use the separate section on the Arizona Judicial Branch website.
  3. Information about arrest warrants and their resolution is available on the Warrant Resolution page of Pima County.

How to Get a Copy of a Pima Court Document

You can obtain a copy of a court document in three ways: online, in person, or by mail. The type of copy — regular or certified — affects the cost and procedure.

Online. Through the Public Access Case Lookup portal, you can view case information and some documents. However, not all documents are available for download — to obtain the full text or a certified copy, you often need to contact the clerk's office.

In person. Visit the Clerk of the Superior Court at the courthouse in Tucson:

Pima County Superior Court — Clerk's Office
110 W. Congress St.Tucson, AZ 85701Phone: (520) 724-3200

On-site, you can order both regular and certified copies. A certified copy has the court's official stamp and is usually required for submission to other institutions — for example, to confirm divorce or criminal record.

By mail. Send a written request specifying the case number, document name, and type of copy (certified or uncertified) to the Clerk of the Superior Court. Include a check or money order for the appropriate amount.

For requests regarding other public records of the county (not just court records), you can use the Public Records Request system on the Pima County website.

Some records have restricted access. Juvenile cases, sealed records, and certain family cases are not issued without a court order.
